ReFashion I ReCycle I ReDeploy

When founder and proud mother of a United States Marine Amy Cotta sent her son away to bootcamp, she feverishly looked for a way to feel connected to him- a way that showed sincere love and gratitude for both her son as well as all those who served before and will serve after him. Unhappy with the garish patriotic fashions or cheap jewelry made in China she continued to find as the years progressed, Amy Cotta made her own wrist cuff from a pair of her son’s utility pants found in their attic and the first ValorBAND was born! Since that fateful day in 2014, Wearable Gratitude™ has taken in numerous uniform donations and used them to ReFashion items into wearable, tangible reminders of the men and women who have served our country, and are a unique and fashionable way to honor our country’s military past, present, and future.

Wearable Gratitude™️

When shipping your uniforms, please make sure to include a note inside of the package with your name and branch, so we know they belong to you.

WHAT TYPE OF DONATIONS DO YOU ACCEPT? We accept uniforms from all military branches and camouflage patterns, including but not limited to combat “work uniforms” and dress uniforms.

  • We will happily take your BDUs, zippered tops, pants, trench coats, flight suits, dress jackets, dress shirts, and belts.

  • We will accept ALL canvas surplus, including half shelters, tents, and bags.

  • We also welcome and upcycle all tags, tapes, buttons, or other objects left on the uniforms.

WHY DO YOU NEED MY BIO? Part of our mission is to honor our donors’ service and life and keep that legacy alive. We do this by sending a uniform donor bio card with every ValorBAND™ shipped. If you would like to remain anonymous, we can do that as well. However, we will redeploy your donation into other Wearable Gratitude™ products and fashions. We only make ValorBANDS™ from uniforms that we can share the donor’s story with the customer.
AM I REQUIRED TO SUBMIT MY PHOTO? No, photos are optional. We value your privacy, and it’s entirely up to you if you would like to share your picture and social media on our Heroes Wall. We will use your branch crest in place of a photo if you do not wish to submit one.
CAN I PURCHASE A ValorBAND MADE FROM MY DONATED UNIFORM? Yes! However, we can’t guarantee when your uniforms will be used and ready for purchase.

DO I GET A FREE ValorBAND IF I DONATE THE MATERIALS? Unfortunately, we are not able to offer free products to those who donate their old uniforms. However, as a thank you for your support, we will be sending you a coupon for future purchases.
